Fort Lee is located in North New Jersey (Bergen County) near the George Washington Bridge. Just a few minutes away from Manhattan, Fort Lee is a beautiful town with a vast history and amazing view of NYC. Located atop the Hudson Palisades the Borough of Fort Lee sits at a population of approx. 35,500 residents. It’s early settlers were that of an American Revolution military encampment. George Washington stood on this rocky bluff and watched the attack and surrender of his garrison at Fort Washington, across the river. The George Washington Bridge, linking Fort Lee and upper Manhattan, opened to traffic in 1931. At one time Fort Lee was also the Motion Picture capital of America. Early movies, including the “Perils of Pauline,” were filmed here.

Fort Lee residents who wish to participate in Community Center activities and/or classes must have a photo ID card. In order to receive an ID card, one must show proof of residency in the form of a current NJ Driver’s License with a photo – OR – a lease, deed, property tax bill, recent cancelled rent check, recent cancelled maintenance check, or co-op or condo maintenance agreement. Members do not have to register for the following programs if they have a Community Center ID Card: English Conversation, Line Dancing, Latin Zumba Aerobics, Ballroom Dance, Toddler Open Gym Time, Tai Chi, Kung Fu Fan, Salsasize, Zumba Gold.

The Youth Center is open to all residents of Fort Lee who are 8 through 17 years of age. Registration for membership is taken during normal operating hours of the Youth Center. Proof of residency is required to obtain a Youth Center Membership Card.

Senior Shuttle Bus Services

Senior Citizen Free Medical Transport
On Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, service is provided for NON-EMERGENCY medical transportation to three hospitals, and doctors along the route, for senior citizens and handicapped residents who need to visit their doctors and/or three hospitals for special treatment, etc.

Holy Name Hospital – Mon & Fri Mornings
These trips will go to Holy Name Hospital along Teaneck Road and will return on Teaneck Road back to Fort Lee. This trip will also include transportation to doctors within the Borough of Fort Lee and others along the route to Holy Name Hospital. The vehicle will pick up between 8:30AM & 10:10AM.
Englewood Hospital – Mon & Fri Afternoon
These trips will go to Englewood Hospital along Engle Street and will return on Dean Street back to Fort Lee. This trip will also include transportation to doctors within the Borough of Fort Lee and along the route to Englewood Hospital. The vehicle will pick up between 1PM & 2:10PM.
Hackensack Hospital – Wed Morning & Afternoon
These trips will go to Hackensack Hospital and doctors within the Borough of Fort Lee only. The vehicle will pick up between 8:30am and 10:10am and then between 1PM & 2:10PM.

On all trips, when the patient is ready to return to Fort Lee, they are to call from the receptionist’s office of the hospital or doctor’s office to Parking Authority at 201-592-3500 Ext. 1518. Transportation will then be dispatched to the location.
